🚨 Drowning Investigation Underway at Silver Lake Provincial Park
Members of the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a drowning incident at Silver Lake Provincial Park.
On Saturday, August 16, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., police responded to a call for service regarding a swimmer who had gone missing after jumping from a canoe into the water.
A 26-year-old male was recovered and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The OPP Marine Unit and the Tay Valley Fire Department assisted in the response.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information that could aid investigators is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

🚨 Enquête pour noyade au parc provincial Silver Lake
Les membres du détachement de Lanark County de la Police provinciale de l’Ontario (PPO) enquêtent sur un incident de noyade survenu au parc provincial Silver Lake.
Le samedi 16 août 2025, vers 16 h 30, les policiers ont répondu à un appel concernant un nageur porté disparu après avoir sauté d’un canoë dans l’eau.
Un homme de 26 ans a été retrouvé et déclaré décédé sur place.
La Unité maritime de la PPO et le service d’incendie de Tay Valley ont participé aux recherches.
L’enquête se poursuit. Toute personne ayant des renseignements pouvant aider les enquêteurs est priée de communiquer avec la PPO au 1-888-310-1122.
