🚨 RCMP Police Dog Services Locate Missing 66-Year-Old Man – Whitney, NB
The New Brunswick RCMP’s Police Dog Services have successfully located a missing 66-year-old man from Whitney, New Brunswick.
On July 30, 2025, at approximately 11:37 a.m., members of the Blackville RCMP detachment received a report of a man who had been working in the woods in Whitney and had not returned home. Police were informed that the man had a medical condition that may cause disorientation.
Shortly after, Cpl. Fortin and his police dog Renn arrived on scene and began a search through thick, wooded terrain. Within approximately 30 minutes, they successfully located the man and, along with other officers, assisted him out of the forest. He was transported to hospital as a precaution.
“The quick and specialized response from Blackville members and our specialized policing services played a significant role in locating the man safely,” said Cpl. Keith Gill of the Blackville RCMP.
An RCMP Remotely Piloted Aircraft System pilot also assisted in the search.

Les services cynophiles de la GRC du Nouveau-Brunswick ont retrouvé avec succès un homme de 66 ans porté disparu à Whitney, au Nouveau-Brunswick.
Le 30 juillet 2025, vers 11 h 37, le détachement de la GRC de Blackville a reçu un signalement concernant un homme qui travaillait dans les bois à Whitney et n’était pas rentré chez lui. On a informé la police que l’homme souffrait d’un problème médical pouvant causer de la désorientation.
Peu après, le caporal Fortin et son chien policier Renn sont arrivés sur place et ont commencé à fouiller le terrain boisé. Environ 30 minutes plus tard, ils ont localisé l’homme et l’ont aidé, avec l’aide d’autres agents, à sortir de la forêt. Il a ensuite été transporté à l’hôpital par mesure de précaution.
« La réponse rapide et spécialisée des membres de Blackville et de nos services policiers spécialisés a joué un rôle clé dans la localisation de l’homme en toute sécurité », a déclaré le caporal Keith Gill de la GRC de Blackville.
Un pilote du système d’aéronef télépiloté de la GRC a également participé à la recherche.
