🚨 Attempted Child Abduction at Beeton Lemonade Stand – Larry Chen, 61, Charged
Nottawasaga OPP have charged a man in connection with an attempted child abduction that took place on Thursday, August 1, 2025, in Beeton, Ontario.
Police say a group of children was operating a lemonade stand around 3:00 p.m. on 9th Line when a man approached and allegedly made inappropriate comments and invitations toward them.
The incident was reported to police. Officers identified and arrested Larry Chen, 61, of New Tecumseth. He has been charged with:
- Three counts of Abduction of a person under 14 – take or entice
Chen remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing in Brampton on August 6, 2025.

🚨 Tentative d’enlèvement d’enfants à un kiosque de limonade à Beeton – Larry Chen, 61 ans, accusé
La PPO de Nottawasaga a porté des accusations à la suite d’une tentative d’enlèvement d’enfants survenue le jeudi 1er août 2025 à Beeton, Ontario.
Un groupe d’enfants tenait un kiosque de limonade vers 15 h sur la 9e Ligne lorsqu’un homme les aurait approchés et aurait tenu des propos et invitations inappropriés.
L’incident a été signalé à la police. Les agents ont identifié et arrêté Larry Chen, 61 ans, de New Tecumseth. Il fait face aux accusations suivantes :
- Trois chefs d’accusation d’enlèvement d’une personne de moins de 14 ans – attirer ou prendre
L’accusé est toujours en détention et doit comparaître à une audience de mise en liberté sous caution à Brampton le 6 août 2025.
