🚨 Ajax Man Charged in Hawkesbury, Ontario Child-Luring Investigation
An Ajax resident is facing multiple charges following a child-luring investigation in the Hawkesbury area.
On Monday, June 23, officers with the Hawkesbury OPP received a report of inappropriate content being sent to a teenaged girl online. Members of the Hawkesbury OPP Crime Unit began an investigation.
On Wednesday, July 30, members of the Crime Unit, assisted by local OPP officers and the Durham Regional Police Service, executed a search warrant in Ajax and made an arrest.
A 28-year-old man has been charged with the following offences:
- Luring a person under 16 by means of telecommunication
- Invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age
- Possession of child pornography
- Transmit sexually explicit material to a person under 16
The accused was released on conditions following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear by video before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on August 27.

🚨 Un homme d’Ajax accusé dans une affaire de leurre d’enfant à Hawkesbury, Ontario
Un résident d’Ajax fait face à plusieurs accusations à la suite d’une enquête sur un leurre d’enfant dans la région de Hawkesbury.
Le lundi 23 juin, les agents de l’OPP de Hawkesbury ont reçu un signalement concernant l’envoi de contenu inapproprié à une adolescente en ligne. L’Unité des crimes de l’OPP a lancé une enquête.
Le mercredi 30 juillet, avec l’aide d’agents locaux et du Service de police régionale de Durham, un mandat de perquisition a été exécuté à Ajax, menant à une arrestation.
Un homme de 28 ans a été accusé des infractions suivantes :
- Leurre d’une personne de moins de 16 ans par télécommunication
- Invitation à des contacts sexuels avec une personne de moins de 16 ans
- Possession de pornographie juvénile
- Transmission de matériel sexuellement explicite à une personne de moins de 16 ans
Le suspect a été libéré sous conditions après une audience de mise en liberté sous caution et doit comparaître par vidéoconférence devant la Cour de justice de l’Ontario à L’Orignal le 27 août.
