🚨 5-Year-Old Girl Rescued in Regina After Online Exploitation Reported from Overseas
A call from another country and a quick response by SPS Patrol resulted in the rescue of a 5-year-old girl being exploited online from a residence in Regina on the morning of July 28, 2025.
At around 4:00 a.m., Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) Communications received a call from a man in the Middle East who had encountered a livestream in a randomized online chat room. The stream showed an adult male committing an indecent act in a room where a prepubescent girl was also present. The complainant immediately contacted SPS via email and provided screenshots and critical information to assist in the investigation.
Through this information, two addresses in Saskatoon were identified, and SPS Patrol members were dispatched to investigate. After speaking with residents, both addresses were ruled out.
As the investigation continued, the overseas complainant—located nearly 11,000 kilometers away—again matched with the suspect in the chat and obtained further evidence. Through swift police work, officers determined the suspect was in Regina. SPS contacted the Regina Police Service (RPS), who responded urgently.
RPS officers attended a Regina residence and located a 51-year-old man along with a 5-year-old girl. The man was arrested and charged with one count of making child pornography. His electronic devices were seized for forensic examination. The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is continuing the investigation, and Victim Services are now supporting the child.
This case demonstrates how a single report—no matter where it originates—can make the difference in rescuing a child from exploitation.

🚨 Une fillette de 5 ans secourue à Regina après un signalement d’exploitation en ligne depuis l’étranger
Un appel provenant de l’étranger et une intervention rapide de la patrouille du Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) ont permis de secourir une fillette de 5 ans victime d’exploitation en ligne dans une résidence de Regina le matin du 28 juillet 2025.
Vers 4 h du matin, les services de communication du SPS ont reçu un appel d’un homme situé au Moyen-Orient, qui avait été connecté à un salon de clavardage aléatoire. Il y a vu une diffusion en direct montrant un homme adulte commettant un acte indécent en présence d’une fillette. Le plaignant a immédiatement contacté le SPS par courriel et a fourni des captures d’écran et d’autres preuves cruciales.
Deux adresses à Saskatoon ont été identifiées, et des policiers ont été envoyés sur place. Après avoir interrogé les occupants, les adresses ont été écartées de l’enquête.
Alors que l’enquête se poursuivait, le plaignant — à près de 11 000 kilomètres — a retrouvé le suspect dans le même salon de clavardage et a obtenu davantage de preuves. Grâce à un travail policier rapide, les agents ont déterminé que le suspect se trouvait à Regina. Le SPS a contacté le Regina Police Service (RPS), qui a lancé une intervention prioritaire.
À la résidence, les agents ont trouvé un homme de 51 ans et une fillette de 5 ans. L’homme a été arrêté et accusé de production de pornographie juvénile. Ses appareils électroniques ont été saisis pour enquête. L’unité ICE de la Saskatchewan poursuit l’enquête, et les services aux victimes soutiennent maintenant l’enfant.
Cette affaire montre comment un seul signalement — même à l’échelle mondiale — peut sauver un enfant.
